The Hole Left Behind

Once you beat the boss, you’ll be amazed by what the pyramid does. It actually lifts up and takes off leaving behind a massive hole in the ground. Mario has to go into in order to finish his quest. However, before heading down into the deep dark abyss, make sure that you have all the Power Moons as well as any goods from the store you think you’ll need. You don’t know what awaits you inside.

The hole actually leads to an icy wonderland where you will meet yet another boss, once you make your way through the maze that they laid out for you. You have to use Cappy on the launcher in order to break the ice blocks overhead to make it through the maze.

Capture a Goomba to give you more traction while walking on the ice. They can sometimes slip, but it is less likely if you have one in your control.

If you continue through the maze, you will come across a Power Moon laid out for you as well as regional coins just behind it. The Binding Ring was once placed in this area, but it’s currently out of place because Bowser took it. There is just a a bleak shadow left behind.

To get to the next boss at this point, capture a Bullet Bill and ride it across the gap.
